Ridiculous.

I’m sorry, people at People – but this is NOT the sexiest man alive. Brad Pitt and George Clooney were worthy of this title, but not this man-boy. Who’s making these decisions?!

I could see these people taking the title, EASY.

But not Matt Damon.

I’m too old for this…

I don’t know if I’ve ever been this tired. This past weekend was one of the busiest I’ve had since I was still wedding planning. Here’s a short recap:

Friday night: Stayed home. Didn’t do much of anything. This was fine, considering the rest of the weekend’s plans. :)

Saturday: During the day, went to my friend Janna’s coffee shop opening. Anyone from Minneapolis should hurry up and visit Janine’s Coffee Shop on 1st Street North in Downtown! So cute!

Saturday night: Leslie’s bachelorette party. Technically started around 3pm. Ate meatballs, cocktail weenies and spinach dip until I wanted to burst, then went down 284 water slides at the indoor park near the mall of america. (So much fun, although I’m quite sure I STILL am feeling the burn from all the steps and whatnot.) Stayed overnight at the hotel – got a noise complaint, drank lots of beer, played Apples to Apples, went to bed around 3am.

Sunday: Up at 8am (cause we’re all old and can’t sleep late anymore), ate breakfast and then home. Had to shower quickly and then head to a friends house to watch the football game. MORE eating and drinking. Came home, took a nap. Then…

Sunday night: Went to First Ave to see Brother Ali, Ghostface Killah, and Rakim – with a live band. Was good, would have been more enjoyable if I wasn’t actually falling asleep at a HIP HOP SHOW. Didn’t get home until 1:30am – not asleep until around 2:30am.

And, that brings us to right now. I had about 4 hours of sleep. Combined with my nap yesterday and the sleep from the night before, I’ve had about 10 hours of sleep. It’s going to be a LONG day.

Encouraging news, and my dream filled sleep.

Well, my mom informed me that my Auntie Julie was released from the hospital and sent home yesterday (which makes me wonder if the flowers/balloon I ordered even made it to her room before she was discharged?), diagnosed with a relapse of what put her in the hospital 2 years ago, Histoplasmosis. It’s a fungal deal that affects the lungs, that if left untreated, can cause your body to basically shut down. Luckily, she caught it in time again – more than likely a flare up of the same evil from 2 years ago. So…better, but not entirely out of the woods…

In other less serious news, I’ve been having a rough week in the sleep department. Not that I’m not getting any sleep, much the opposite. I’m sleeping well, but have not had one evening that didn’t involve about 3 separate dreams during the night. Last night, I had a few dreams. A couple items from these dreams that stick in my memory are:

  • Being at some sort of party for a friend of mine, then realized I blew off a portion of my dear friend Leslie’s bachelorette party for this other party. Received a call from Leslie telling me to just “forget our friendship, it’s too late” or something of the sort.
  • Being in our new house (many of my dreams this week have had this common theme), and finding ourselves having a party, yet someone was taking a shower in the basement bathroom (a shower I never plan on setting foot in), and me saying to him “I guess it had to be broken in eventually.” What?!
  • My parents telling me they plan on moving to Minneapolis sometime in the next couple years. To some, this may seem like a nightmare, but I was overjoyed. I woke up happy from that dream (not remembering I had it, until my bus ride to work this morning).

Other dreams from this week include:

  • Somehow falling in love with someone who I thought was Slash (yes, from G’nR), but turned out to be a Slash impersonator. Can you say, too much Guitar Hero? Jesus Christ…
  • A horror movie-type dream full of serial killers and quiet neighborhoods. That’s nothing out of the ordinary for me though. :)

That’s all I can recall right now. Needless to say, all this brain activity while I’m trying to sleep is making my seemingly restful, full nights of sleep turn me into a zombie the next day. I remember in one of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, the teenagers took some sort of Anti-Dreaming pill before they went to sleep to stop Freddy – too bad that’s just a shitty horror flick.

Nooo!

The hubs just informed me it was snowing on his way home for lunch today. Ugh. Not ready AT ALL. It’s not sticking or anything notable, but it’s cold enough for it to happen. :(

Well, the weekend flew by pretty quickly. Watched the Timberwolves lose at a friends house Friday night, window shopped at scratch & dent furniture stores Saturday, VFW for karaoke Saturday night, and cleaned all day yesterday. A fun weekend? Not really, but that’s fine. My only lasting effect is a broken back from vacuuming and cleaning yesterday. I’m old!

I’m looking forward to the weekend, Leslie’s bachelorette party is Saturday – at the indoor water park! Should be a blast, aside from having to put a swimming suit on.

6 Random Facts?

Ms Martini tagged me with a task of posting 6 random facts about myself. So…here goes nothing.

1. Halloween is nearly my favorite holiday, next to Christmas. I have seen nearly every horror movie ever made, and have no problem watching them over and over again every year when they’re on TV. My favorite TV show is Ghost Hunters on Sci-Fi Network. Yeah, I’m THAT girl.

2. My cat’s name is Miles. (Named after Miles Davis, not Miles on Murphy Brown.) He also goes by Milo, Mile-hole, Mr. Stink, Shoe, Monkey, Monkey-butt, Butt-face, Stink-butt, and Milo McQuack – to name a few.

3. Although I’m excited to move into our first house, I’m terrified of not having a buffer from the outside world (a la security doors on apartment buildings and not being elevated from the “ground floor”). I’ll more than likely have trouble sleeping for the first few weeks with misc noises and whatnot that houses make.

4. Whenever a firetruck drives by, I have to (according to an unwritten “girl law”) yell “HAAAAAYYY.” Firefighters have the stigma of being hot. Somewhere, there is a picture of me on a fire truck from my bachelorette party in Minneapolis. I need to see that someday.

5. I have a sailor’s mouth. I drop the “f-bomb” more times daily than I can count. I like swearing. I didn’t really start to swear until after I turned 17. I didn’t start to swear in front of my parents until about 5 years ago. Since that invisible barrier was torn down, my parents tend to swear more than I do. But…we’re good people. :)

6. My left hand has cramped up 7 times today because of playing Guitar Hero III for like, 3 hours last night. Being able to play along with “3’s & 7’s” by Queens of the Stone Age has been a dream come true, and I will not rest until I can play it on expert mode. (I’m trying to master the Medium level now…)
