I bought two baby blankets yesterday on Etsy.

TWO.

Good god. This is going to be a long and expensive 9 months. :)

Here they are – each link to the store I bought them from.

Frozen Solid.

I know, I know…I’m being a wuss. But really….it was -17 degrees when I left home this morning. Without the windchill. IN MINNEAPOLIS.

*sigh*

The only silver lining is that in about 50 hours, I’ll be on a plane to Vegas, where it is about 70 degrees warmer than it is here. AWESOME. I’m totally just going to walk around nude. Just kidding. But really, I will be wearing flip flops and NO EFFING JACKET.

And I’ll be shopping AND drinking at the same time. (I know, Martini, you’re all – but I do that all the time!) I’m talking LEGALLY. Nickel slots, call girls…I cannot wait.

Anyway…I have to say, I’m really going to miss the husband. I know it’s a girls weekend, but it will be weird being away from him for that long. I’ve only done it a couple times before, but I’ll be missing him dearly. Although, I’m sure he could do without all the shopping and hours of slot machine play. I know he’ll be keeping the boys (Milo & Boo) warm and happy – and probably having fun doing all the things I usually quietly disapprove of. :)

So, that’s where it stands. I still have to pack, do laundry, grocery shop with the husband, and of course…work before I leave. But, I’ve finally made a list. So at least I sort of have my shit together. I barely slept last night worrying about all the things I have to do before I leave. I need to knock that off.

Ahhhh…..

This weekend I actually got to relax. It was SO nice. We watched 3 movies (Cloverfield – A, Stepbrothers – B, and Transformers – A), picked up the house, laid around, and did some shoveling. It was bliss. I also got a little more Christmas shopping done, and scored the effing DEAL OF THE CENTURY at Nordstrom Rack.

William Rast Jeans – Savoy Regular Rise Trouser in a Tanzanite Wash
Reg Price: $220 (still available on their website – see link above)
Nordstrom Rack: $70

I love them. For those not in the know, this is Justin Timberlake’s clothing line. And damn, does he know how to make my ass look good. Granted, he assumes I’m about 4 inches taller than I really am, but I’ll let it slide.

I also scored a super cute Kenzie tank that will be excellent for Vegas.

Today is Monday. Two weeks from tomorrow, I’m going back home for Christmas! I’m so excited!!

At least it’s not my mom’s basement.

Less than an hour ago, an item was delivered to my house that has ensured that I will not have a social life for the next month.

Yes, ladies and gentleladies, I am now the proud owner of Guitar Hero: World Tour. Not just the game though – the full band kit – for the Wii.

(I just peed a little while typing that.)

OMG – SO effing excited. However, I will be confined to my basement until I have played and mastered all the songs on medium. (I know, I can’t do the hard setting. Piss off.)

In other random news of the week:

  • I now have bangs. I keep bouncing between loving them and being concerned that I look like a 15 year old circa 1992. Next week, I shall be receiving highlights for the first time in a few years. I’m a little worried about this since I’ve been au natural for so long. Oh well. I’m bored. Hair = entertainment.
  • My cat was deathly ill last week. I failed to mention it because I thought he might die. Final prognosis: SEVERE Inflammatory bowel disease. No lymphoma, yet. Probably will develop down the road. Treatment: prednisone and retarded expensive cat food for all of his life.
  • I missed The Office last night because of grocery shopping. So, instead of swooning over Jim and hoping Creed is in this episode, I spent $150 on misc items including a freezer full of lean cuisines and a whole cut up chicken.
  • Tonight is my company’s “Homecoming Gala.” (I work in the education industry, and I think they think calling a company party “homecoming” is HI-LARIOUS. I fail to see the humor or kitchiness of this idea.) I’m dragging the husband with me. I’m sure we’ll both be so excited to set up our new social-life-sucker that we’ll be making an early exit.
  • Tomorrow – Ski & Snowboard Expo, laying carpet in the basement, and heavy duty cleaning in preparation for family-in-law arriving next weekend.

My Etsy Christmas list.
