HEY!!! I’M GOING TO BLOGHER! AGAIN! FOR THE THIRD YEAR IN A ROW!

If you’re totally not interested in any of this nonsense, feel free to skip this post.

If you’re going?! OMGLOLI’LLSEEYOUTHERE!!!one!!1!

I thought I’d do a little introduction post, so you know how to spot me or what conversation to strike up while we’re waiting in line for the bathroom at Sparklecorn.

First of all, this is me:

Yes, I own like, 4 different pairs of glasses. I’m a glasses horder. However, I might put on my big girl underoos and wear my contacts. IMMA MIX SHIZ UP. So, it’s essentially a grab bag.

Here’s things I would love to discuss with you!

Here’s what I don’t want to talk about.

  • Politics.
  • Religion.
  • Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Scooby-Doo, Ni-Hao Kai-lan, etc. I get enough of that at home.
  • Blog Stats/Monetizing/Couponing (No offense.)
  • How I’m out of drink tickets.
  • That checking the weather is bad for my health.
  • What time my flight leaves.

But seriously, I am so stoked to land in New York on Wednesday evening, to spend sometime with some of my blogging besties (like, 20 of them) and how friendships made on the internets are just as real and true as any other.

What’s most hilarious is that as each year passes that I attend BlogHer, I spend less and less time packing. I mean, I’m actually going shopping for stuff to wear on Monday and am leaving on Wednesday. I think it’s safe to say I’m not worried about this shit anymore. I’m some sort of professional…something.

*This post is probably all over the place since I’m getting ready to leave for a cabin tomorrow and toddlers and SEINFELD IS ON and where the eff is the pizza man and laundry and dirty house. All at once. But again. Not worried.

Internet = Sparkly Unicorns

(Sparkly Unicorns = Magic. Therefore, the Internet = Magic.)

Many moons ago, when I was newly with child (and let’s face it, before that even), I was on a website called The Bump. I met many wonderful ladies there – many of whom I’ve since met in person and have become internet friends with.

One of those ladies I referred to as “Bacon.” It became apparent that we lived in a fairly close proximity to each other, but we never met in person. Until Yo Gabba Gabba. Finally we’d broken the ice. We became Facebook friends (which is pretty serious, as far as I’m concerned) and had windows into each others FB lives.

When Bacon…I mean Melissa was looking to build her photography portfolio, I quickly volunteered myself and the whole family, because DUH.

I should revise the formula in the beginning. Melissa = Sparkly Unicorns = Magic.

Magic.

A good morning.

This morning when I dropped Abbers off at daycare, I had a little surprise waiting for me.

Since she only has daycare Wednesdays and Thursdays, her mothers day gift to me sat there all weekend. Even though it’s a few days late, it was a lovely way to begin my morning.

There were additional photos that didn’t make it into the frame. They are all so sweet – I got a little verclempt walking to work.

No. I’m not pregnant. But thanks for assuming!

I WON A TRIP TO TURKS & CAICOS AT BLOGHER! I know, that was so 2011. Here’s the story:

While at BlogHer, Playskool had a booth set up with the steps to Sesame Street and a contest. Tweet a picture of yourself sitting on the steps of Sesame Street along with some prefab tweet, and you’ll be entered to win!

On August 18th, I got an email saying I’d won. Then I pooped my pants. Then I read the email again. Then I had a seizure, then read the email again…and so on and so on. It was real. We (all three of us!) were scheduled to go on September 30th, the hubs’ birthday. We didn’t have much time, so we immediately went and got Abby her first passport.

cutest passport photo ever.

Then Hurricane Irene hit and damaged the Beaches resort. We had our fingers crossed it would reopen for our trip, but alas they wouldn’t. Our trip was postponed with no idea when we would be going. (In all honesty, the hubs and I were both in the midst of dealing with our awesome dual anxiety issues, so it was probably for the better.) Finally we got the word, we’d be getting a trip voucher to cash in at any time in the next year (with blackout dates, of course). We still didn’t know when we were going. And being the supersticioius jerk I am, I didn’t want to get excited (read: post anything about this awesomeness) until we had solid dates set.

Well, we have our dates, though not our first choice (which was early March) – but we’ll be going mid-April. WE’RE GOING TO THE TURKS & CAICOS IN APRIL. I’m so excited.

So, there you have it. We’re going on a trip! (In April.) BUT WE’RE ACTUALLY GOING!

In other news, I’m going to attempt the Feb photo a day thing, again. Maybe I’ll actually stick to it this time. :)

Day late and a dollar short.
