Well, after meeting with Susan last night, I think we’ve got our woman. I mentioned her before – and she’s definitely a perfect fit for us. we pretty much will get to hand craft our ceremony. And she’s a bargain compared to some of the other officiants – sold! Aside from that – we also decided to go with Instant Request as our DJs. everything seems to be falling in place for the big details! Tomorrow morning – our first cake tasting. We’ll see how that goes as well. I’m not in as big of a rush for that, but it should be interesting. I hope I can get hungry for cake at 9am.

20 minutes of terror.
Category I am a moron
Okay – I have to let you all in on my 20 minutes of terror this morning.
I get up, get in the shower, and within like, 2 minutes of showering realize my engagement ring is not on my finger. I check my other hand for rings (wondering if I had for some reason taken them all off before going to bed) – but they were all there. Engagement ring = missing. My plan of having enough time to shave my legs is thrown out the window – did I even condition my hair? Who knows.
I rush out of the shower and check the possible spots I would have left it and it’s not there. It’s slowly occurring to me that I TOOK IT OFF IN MY SLEEP!!! WHAT?! Then I start crying and flash back on the gorgeous star sapphire ring my parents gave me on my 16th birthday and how I managed to lose that within 2 weeks of getting it. Lo and behold, after 20 minutes of tearing all the bedding off and ransacking the house, the fiance picked up a throw rug in our bedroom and it rolled off.
Uh, yeah. So – I TOOK MY RING OFF IN MY SLEEP. Please, please tell me someone else has done this before. I may need to glue this thing on.
Ceremonies and Beer
Category wedding whatnots
This is far too entertaining not to share with everyone. I’ve been emailing back and forth with a woman about officiating our ceremony. I found her online at www.affordableidos.com. When I asked her about when we could schedule a meeting, the Reverend suggested we meet at a place in NE Minneapolis called Gasthof’s. For those not familiar…this tends to be a rowdy German bar/restaurant. In the words of the fiance, this is handy – we can “Have a beer, snuff shot and book our minister.” Should I be concerned? Or elated? I’m not sure – I’m leaning towards elated. Anyway, we’ll see what happens next Thursday night when we meet her there. Tonight – 7pm – meeting with potential DJ. This should be interesting!
Metal Mouth
Category wedding whatnots
Well, I just got back from getting my top teeth covered with braces. Yep, I’m a brace face again. Not so much metal mouth as these are technically “clear braces”. I dunno…I can see them. All in the pursuit of straight teeth (again) for the wedding…and forever. Everything went fine – I only gagged once when they did the impressions. Hats off to the technician at Dr. Colby’s office, Jen. She was super nice and I didn’t vomit from having clay in my mouth. High Five!
And so it begins…
Category wedding whatnots
Well, maybe not so much “begins,” seeing as how we’ve really been working on this wedding since June…but the real guts of the planning is just about to begin. So, just in case anyone wants to keep tabs on how hellacious my life is about to become…check back often, as I’m sure I’ll be able to provide comic relief in here somewhere.
So far, we’ve got our venue booked and I’ve got my dress. And aside from that…um…yeah. That’d be it. I’ve been doing a lot of careful consideration about things that need to be done and that need to happen…but that’s about it. This should be interesting. I’m going to give the keys to this blog to the hubs as well, so that he may add his two cents when he feels fit, but you’ll most likely only see my thoughts and panic indicated here.
Ciao for now.
