Category cancer sucks, I am a moron, The Hubs

That is the word I would use to describe this week, at best.

I walked almost 11 miles on Saturday with A. We, of course, talked the whole time. I hadn’t seen her in quite a while, so I filled her in on my trip to the PHX and my awesome average ten year reunion. She told me about her experience at the Brewers game a few weeks ago and about her trip to SF, CA coming up. In the afternoon, the husband and I assembled our 7 piece patio set. As soon as it was built the hubs sat down to enjoy the fruits of his labor.

(And show off his six-pack.)

Saturday night we went to a friend’s house to watch the show we had sold our tickets to, in order to purchase said patio set. Our friends B and T have an apartment with a balcony overlooking the park where the concert took place. We didn’t miss much.

Sunday, I had contemplated power cleaning, but only got a little done.

Tuesday my tooth was hurting beyond belief, so I stayed home from work. I nearly ODed on Advil (is that possible) and proceeded to clean our house like it hadn’t been in a long time. That felt wonderful. Now if we can just keep it that way…

Wednesday I worked out at the Y after work. I also learned a lesson. Running shorts + Yoga + Pilates = Ass shown for all to see. I forgot about how running shorts A) aren’t long, and 2) have flaps for air circulation/flexibility that allow others to view my ass. Awesome.

Yesterday I learned that my mom tested negative for the BRCA gene. This is such great news. Moreover, it means that I need only look to my dad’s side of the family for that possibility for me. Last night, I did nothing. The husband and I made our own dinners. I watched almost 3 hours of The First 48. I love that show. I’m half convinced I should have been a detective or crime scene person. The hubs also watered the lawn.

(There he is showing off his manly physique again.)

Tonight, the husband and I are going to cheer on the Twins as they take on the Brewers yet again. Tomorrow, I have to be up at 4:45am in anticipation of my teammates for the 3 Day coming over to meet before our 12.5 mile walk. It will be a full day, to say the least.

(Don’t ask me who those women are. I heart Google Images.)

This may have been the longest week EVER.

Today is the summer solstice, so it SEEMS like the longest day ever.

Coincidence? Maybe.

After working a 10 hour day yesterday, I don’t even feel like I should be here today.

The hubs and I have a big weekend of home improvement planned. I’m going to replace our doorbell while he attempts again to grow grass in our patchy front yard. I have a couple big walks this weekend too, a 10 mile one tomorrow and a 6 mile one Sunday.

That’s all for now. :)

Mrs. Jenna – 0
Dentist (named Crentist?) – 2

Today I had a second crown done at my dentist. (I was just checking to see if I posted about my first one but I don’t see it!) Anyway, the teeth were right next to each other. I felt so retarded leaving the docs office with my “fat lip.” It wasn’t half as painful as the first time, but equally if not more painful to my pocketbook.

The dental assistant may have been the most annoying woman on the planet. She kept cracking horrible jokes, “acting cool” (not that I am, but kind of the “Mom, you’re embarrassing me!” kind of act) and just being weird. Then she started talking about the vampire romance books she reads. THANK GOD I had miscellaneous crap in my mouth preventing me from being able to speak. However, this encouraged her to speak more.

So, to contribute to the horrible conversation, I mention that I’ve read some Anne Rice, but not in a while. She then asks, “who’s Anne Rice?”

Uh, what?

How does someone who enjoys “vampire romance” books not know who Anne Rice is?! Isn’t she the queen?!

Then she started talking about Harry Potter and other such “fantasy” books and I tuned her out. It was becoming painfully obvious she works at the Renaissance Festival on the weekends or something.

And now, back home…6 hours since the dentist…and my mouth is FINALLY back to normal, and not in too much pain.

(Go Celtics!)

(Go Twins!)

The hubs and I had a TON of fun in Milwaukee this weekend. We stayed with friends E. and B. and watched the Twins manhandle the Brewers. Then we went out for beers to some sweet bars and then crashed at their apartment.

I will say this – I have been to Milwaukee many times in my day. Most visits result in this thought – “It’s a nice place to visit but I would NEVER want to live there.” However, this time, I actually really really liked the places we went to and the neighborhoods we were in. I actually thought for a split second “Maybe I could live here.” But then I snapped out of it. In all seriousness though, E & B showed us a great time, and were still civil to us even after the Twins mauled their beloved Brewers. :)
