So tired.

The husband and a few friends went to see Broken Social Scene last night at First Avenue. If you ever have an opportunity to see them live, I HIGHLY recommend them. I have photos – I’ll post them later.

Anyway – the show was a late one – wrapped up around 1:00am. We got home around 1:30 and went straight to bed….where the husband proceeded to snore regardless of sleeping position. So – I think I was asleep by about 3. Then this morning, he was hungover and crabby – and throwing things because he couldn’t find the Twins hat he wanted to wear.

However, all was redeemed because he sent me a link to a story about a CSI exhibit that’s going to be at the science museum starting tomorrow. I’m so there.

So, yeah. Not much happening. I’m just glad to be back home, and will stay here until Christmas. No more weekends away for a while.

Get to know him.

This looked interesting, so I’m doing it too.

EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT THE HUSBAND

Interpreted by Mrs. Jenna

1. He’s sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen?
A Twins game, Family Guy, Seinfeld, occasionally House Hunters

2. You’re out to eat; what kind of dressing does he get on his salad?
If they let him – a combo of French and Ranch – otherwise, probably just plain Ranch.

3. What’s one food he doesn’t like?
Fish. He won’t eat ANY fish. He’s tried some that I’ve ordered, but he and fish don’t get along.

4. You go out to the bar. What does he order?
Summit EPA is his fav. But he’s really a lover of almost all beers.

5. Where did he go to high school?
WashBURN!

6. What size shoe does he wear?
10.5

7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be?
Vintage skateboard decks.

8. What is his favorite type of sandwich?
He used to always order a BMT from Subway, but he hates Subway now (I’m not quite sure why). But when he makes a sandwich for lunch – it’s a bologna and cheese sandwich.

9. What would this person eat every day if he could?
Pizza. No question about it. Domino’s to be exact. (I know, right?!)

10. What is his favorite cereal?
He doesn’t really eat cereal – but I think he really likes Lucky Charms.

11. What would he never wear?
Anything pink or extremely trendy.

12. What is his favorite sports team?
Minnesota Twins!!

13. Who will he vote for?
Obama!

14. Who is his best friend?
Uh – me. Duh.

15. What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn’t do?
Tuck him into bed so he can’t move.

16. How many states has he lived in?
Two, I believe.

17. What is his heritage?
Polish and something.

18. You bake him a cake for his birthday; what kind of cake?
Hmmm – probably Crazy Cake. Or if I could recreate it – Cheesecake Factory cheesecake.

19. Did he play sports in high school?
Hahahahaha. No. I’m pretty sure you had to not ditch classes to participate in high school sports. He skateboarded CONSTANTLY. And still does, occasionally – even at almost 33 years old. This is something that I just love (and admire) about him – and never would discourage. The things he can do on a skateboard amaze me.

20. What could he spend hours doing?
Staring lovingly into my eyes.

Wait. I mean, watering the lawn and drinking beer.

Contemplative Monday.

Category marriage, other people are morons, The Hubs

After reading today’s installment of my new favorite blog Dooce (see link on the left), it made me ponder all the things the hubs and I have been through in the six years we’ve been together.

Thirteen weddings – Fourteen if you count ours.
Five funerals.
College graduation.
Five family cancer diagnoses.
Four apartments.
A stolen car.
A totaled car.
Bought a car.
Bought a house.
One stalker.
Visited California, Seattle (twice), Las Vegas, Hawaii, Costa Rica, and countless trips to Wisconsin and Illinois.
Two (or three?) layoffs and the acquisition of a dream job.

It’s a whole lot. I’m sure I’m leaving some stuff out. But, it’s a lot.

I’m just reminiscent after our awesome time at the fair yesterday. I’ll have to scan and post our annual photobooth picture. It’s so cool to know that when you’ve made a decision to spend the rest of your life annoying the crap out of the same person every day that you can go through that laundry list of events above and still have fun counting douchebags during a gorgeous day at the fair. (Official count was somewhere around 34.)

At least my house is clean.

Not what I wore while cleaning.

Four hours of non-stop house cleaning and my abode is ready for a parental pop-in.

I vacuumed, mopped, straightened, dusted, arranged flowers, did dishes. I should have taken some pictures. Something tells me once I get home from work in a few hours that the husband will have somehow undone some of my hard work.

The parents will be here in about 7 hours.

Things I have to do before they get here:

Take kitties to the vet to get cathader-ized. (Pee-ers begone!)
Go to grocery store.
Go to home improvement store.
Clean bathroom – again (I can only assume).
Drink copious amounts of wine.

I’m in a surprisingly good mood today. Probably because I woke up to a home worthy of a spread in some home magazine. Certainly not Domino. Maybe Better Homes & Gardens if they had a sloppy 20-somethings issue.

A year ago right now…

Category marriage, The Hubs, wedding whatnots

…myself, the husband and the wedding party were sweating buckets under the Hennepin Avenue Bridge taking our wedding photos. It was 90 degrees.

Meanwhile, back in the present…

We’re both sitting in our cubes. Working.

At any rate – we had a nice weekend in the Wiscompton (read Wisconsin), going to the Dells and having a nice dinner or two with my folks.

Tonight, I’m making dinner when I get home, ready for when the hubs gets home from work. Then we’ll watch the Twins game. :)
