Saying goodbye.
Category not so much, other people are awesome
Yesterday I went to the hospital to say goodbye to Sarah one final time.
It sucked.
I’m having a hard time putting it into words, but my friend at Aboutfulness blog wrote about it. I’m just going to direct you there, because what she wrote is absolutely perfect and beautiful and perfect.
Please read she is quite wonderful.
After today we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled programming, including the fact that my baby girl weighs 16.5 pounds now. WTF happened to my tiny baby? Someone answer me!!
How many lives can one person save?
Category please and thank you
Over 60 people. That’s the answer.
It was confirmed earlier today that my friend Sarah is indeed in a vegetative state. Her brain went without oxygen for too long and is swelling. Following her wishes, her parents are having her organs donated. Sixty people will benefit from her gift. With the tragedy of her impending death, this is the best news we could hope for.
My friend Kelley who passed away last May donated his organs as well.
If anything please take a moment to make sure that if you’re an organ donor, your loved ones know that this is your wish. Make sure your drivers license notates this as well. If you’re not already an organ donor, please consider doing so. Although the site is ridiculously archaic, OrganDonor.gov is a great resource for any questions you might have.
And again, give your friends and family the hug you’ve been meaning to give next time you see them.
(Also, a big shout out the hubs. He brought me flowers, chocolate cake and mac & cheese from Noodles to cheer me up. It helped. Until my stomach imploded. At least the flowers smell nice.)
A lack of peeps and sad news.
Category Abigail, paparazzi, please and thank you
Happy Easter, dear readers.
Today turned out to be a gorgeous day. We headed to the hubs’ parents house and had a wonderful dinner prepared mostly by my sister-in-law. After stuffing ourselves we headed to the front yard to enjoy the sun and warm weather.
Abby was having so much fun that she passed out within 15 minutes of being outside.
So, I took it upon myself to take some photos of my favorite subject.
On a much sadder note, a friend I’ve known since junior high school suffered both cardiac and respiratory arrest after being brought to the emergency room on Friday when she was unable to breathe. After being brought back to life, she suffered a number of seizures and two strokes, and is now in a medically induced coma and is presumed to be in a vegetative state. She turns 30 in a matter of weeks. I’m trying to stay optimistic as she is a spitfire to the nth degree and if anyone could come out of this mess, it would be her. Any good vibes you have to share are greatly appreciated. I’m going to the hospital tomorrow to sit with her family.
Give your friends an extra hug the next time you see them. Shit happens in the matter of seconds.
Finally. A watch worthy of my wrist!

Now, who wants to buy it for me?
So, so pretty. I love STORM watches. I’ve had one of my mom’s that she gave me for the past like, 9 years. It’s still my favorite watch. I bought this one when my wrists were ever-expanding with pregnancy, and although I still wear it a lot, I miss my STORM (which is still a little snug). So now…I must get this one. For £99.99.
And I just did the math. That’s like, $150.
Sigh.
Anyway, it’s an awesome watch. I recommend it to anyone who has $150 lying around. You can get it in 2 different face colors and 3 different finishes! They’re geniuses, I tell you.
